OFFICERSThe Dog Writers Association of America was founded in 1935 in the Westminster Club's meeting room. There were many writers, editors, and publishers invited and eight awards were given, The tradition has been followed, every year since then, to have a large social dinner meeting before Westminster to present awards in various categories designed to encourage quality writing about dogs in all aspects of the sport. Both amateurs and professionals compete. The dinner this year was held on February, 8, 2009 and our own Carolyn Heaton and the Hotline Staff won the award sponsored by the AKC for AKC Club Publication Excellence!!!
